Mark Edmunds


As a software engineer with twenty years experience of developing applications for both large and small companies, Mark has a wide range of skills and experience covering the entire project life cycle: requirements gathering, change management, development, documentation, maintenance, on-site installation, defect tracking, troubleshooting, and direct/indirect customer support.

For the majority of Mark’s career, he has specialised in C++, C, and Java systems on the UNIX platform for the likes of IBM, Visa, and Data Sciences. Projects range from writing C++ and TCL/TK debug tools, authoring complex AIX C device drivers, developing multithreaded C++ IPC/STL client-server applications for the defence industry, and creating Java Intranet and internal systems.

During his time at IBM, he was responsible for developing and maintaining software modules and device drivers for IBM’s leading enterprise storage products (SSA/Fibre Channel systems).

At VISA Europe he was part of a team architecting an improved Java XML messaging module responsible for connecting the client GUI system to the back-end Credit Card Authorisation Switch based on the ACI banking system.

At Data Sciences, Mark was part of a small team responsible for developing a specialised communications client-server HCI and database for a British Naval weather forecasting system. He started on the project at the component design stage and continued through all subsequent stages of the life cycle until the successful final installation.

Mark has also architected and implemented a Web-based Java Intranet application for a midsized telecommunications company, co-authored a proposal and technical design specification for a large automotive company, and implemented communication gateways for the freight forwarding industry.

Mark Edmunds started ShootingBusiness.com in 2009 to help his clients promote their services and products using Internet Video Marketing.  Through ShootingBusiness.com, Mark brings the fusion of Professional Green Screen Video Skills together with a mix of Internet Marketing.

Mark is also a Mindsheet Associate where he brings much marketing and software development experience. Prior to starting ShootingBusiness.com, Mark spent 18 years developing software for the likes of IBM, Visa, and Data Sciences as well as smaller local IT companies. As part of his IT work, he also worked for a mobile video production company which is where he grew his interest and passion for video.
