Michael Herst trained as an accountant with a leading London based firm of accountants and then joined a major international shipping/transportation group where he progressed to be Head of Finance. He then transitioned into the recruitment industry and after some years became a main board director for a large recruitment business where he established and ran a successful Executive Search business and helped steer the company through a period of dramatic double-digit growth. He was a member of the leadership team that took the company to a stock market flotation and worked to manage its subsequent sale to a major US company.
Michael is now Chief People Officer for Mindsheet Ltd. with easy access to top talent through his association with Osprey Clarke where he is Managing Partner. Osprey Clarke is recognised as a leading player in executive search and the provision of interim executives, supporting the growth of world class organisations.
He carries out board/senior level searches, cross function for global corporations, with particular focus on infrastructure, transportation and logistics and the satellite sector. Michael has a long association with Penrhyn with many years at board level within the organisation and spent many years as Chairman.
Other information
Michael has served on the boards of a number of organisations and charities and also manages a successful function band business where he plays bass guitar. His greatest passion is spending time with his family and grandchildren and of course his football team West Ham United.
