Mindsheet Wins Innovation Award at The News Business Excellence Awards 2009
The News Business Excellence Awards 2009 was a
chance to honour companies and organisations that
are being successful despite the recession. About
500 people congregated from across south east Hampshire
to enjoy the dinner and awards ceremony at the Portsmouth
Guildhall.
BBC South Today presenter Sally Taylor MBE guided us through the evening as master of ceremonies. Nine awards reflected the merits of team work, community involvement, innovation and high achievement. Forty-eight entries made it onto the shortlist across all categories.
Amid such an amazing range of local
business talent, we were happily surprised to win
the Innovation of the Year category for our Testudo
robot spy – a remote control device that combat
troops can send into enemy territory to scout for
hazards. It’s already had interest from the
MoD who recently agreed to fund the next stage of
development.
